Holy Unions (Same Sex Commitment Ceremonies) at West
“Recognizing that we are called to live out Jesus’ commandment to love and demonstrate this through the creation of opportunities to honor and bless the lives of its members, the Directory for the Worship of God of the Presbyterian Church (USA) encourages special occasions and transitions in the life of the members of the congregation to be recognized in worship. Accordingly, the Session of West Presbyterian Church will allow the use of church property for the celebration of same sex commitment ceremonies, commonly called Holy Union. Union services shall be under the direction of the Pastor and the supervision of the Session, and be consistent with other building use and worship policies established by the church”
