The West Church congregation has come through many challenges since we were founded in 1868, including a fire that destroyed our building in 1993. Today this diverse, inclusive, spirit-filled, inner city congregation continues to remain faithful to God and bears witness to the Good News of God's love for all people through its worship, mission, fellowship and spiritual formation activities.

At the very core of our common life is worship, where we praise God, hear God's Word, and bring our deepest needs and joys to God. We proclaim the saving grace of Jesus Christ and seek to follow his example. Another hallmark of this congregation's life together is reaching out to care for persons in need and joining in partnership with others in the struggle for justice and peace.
